    Re: Dumble amp on Reverb...

I wonder if I can tell the difference between $100k speakers and mere $80k speakers. It must be nice to look down on those who only spend $70k on a set of speakers. Savages.

Are they really that pure win?

But if they actually ARE....then, with that price point, pay some dude to build a replica

There are quite a few out there, Two Rock, Fuchs, and others.

The most affordable would be the Ceriatone - http://www.ceriatone.com/series/model/overtone/

Probably not as much money in the materials for a humbucker, as the materials for a Wilson Audio Modular Monitor.

I’m kind of surprised the value of the Dumbles has continued to increase, now that the formula is well known and you can actually buy the circuit in other amps. I guess it’s like Klons, the extreme rarity keeps the prices high.
              Oh no.....

I don't get why everyone grouses about a Dumble that fetches $125K.

Is it worth $125K? Of course not. The rarity (supply) and "pedigree"... not to mention demand, jack the price through the roof.

And I'm sure if say your father "bequeathed" a Dumble to you after he passed on, you wouldn't go, "well, the amp is really only worth
maybe $1500 so I'll sell it for that amount." No - you would sell it for $125K or the maximum amount you could get.

                They're playable investments, mainly.

Back in about 2009, I bought a very clean '66 Fender Deluxe (all original glass, original amp cover) from a friend of a friend for $1300.

                Today, they're going for $2400 https://reverb.com/p/blackface-fender-deluxe

Supply & Demand... love it, live it.

                  Iirc, Ceriatone already builds one.

It’s got “dumb” in the name for a reason.

If you tried to sell a Dumble for $1500 nobody would buy it because they would think it was a scam.
