Will we ever overcome a LP + Marshall combination?

    I seriously doubt it.

I've owned just about every "basic" type of guitar out there.
Japanese RGs, Japanese Jacksons, semihollows, Teles, Strats, G&L, PRS, and IMO nothing beats a Les Paul at it's game.
Maybe, possibly the G&L Superhawk I used to own could make a case for it's own, but that's a rare bird because it has no business being so good for it's price.

Les Pauls are not perfect, but they sound so good I'll live with that. The playability of shredsticks is unbeatable, and guitars like a 335/339 have a different character that I absolutely adore.
But when it's time to bring out some serious demolition, it's Les Pauls for me.

I love your rig, man. It sounds so good I can hear it from here.

Spoken like a true Professional. Thank mans.
Yeah even with honky pickups a LP sounds better than most.
Once you get the right combo of pups/strings/speakers/amps/FX its Nirvana.
