  • Mystery Line 6 Email / Effect

Did anyone else recently receive a mysterious email from Line 6 regarding the TonePort? The title of the email is "Line 6 Announces TonePort." Here's what I got (and yes, it came over as text and links rather than true HTML):

I got it...didn't clicky any of the links, just cos I didn't have time when it arrived...honestly I'd forgot about it...

It's a modeling interface for mics/pre-amps and other recording gear. It has 1/4" and XLR inputs.
        Oh no.....

        Oh Yeah!

I got the real email this morning. Looks interesting but I've already got an M-Audio.

Seems like a repackaged PODxt mixed with the recording capabilities of the guitarport. if you ask me. I may get the M-Audio instead...

Depending on price, I might be interested in this. It would streamline my current set-up quite a bit. I'm just not totally sold on doing all my amp-sim tweaking via software.

It is different than guitarport in that it models studio level mic pre's. It has bass and guitar modelling with in it. It is not a plug in but a front end interface to a DAW system.

Looks like a pretty cool tool ... no ProTools support though I imagine.
