  • question about capacitors...

...not necessarily the one found in an amplifier, but just in general. say i have two capacitors both with the same rating (in this case, it's .001 uF). if i wire them together in series, will that simply add the values, giving me .002 uF?

my goal is to get a value of .002 uF, but unfortunately they were out of capacitors with that rating, so i'm stuck with what i've got.

    thanks.

Put two capacitors in parallel to double the uf rating.

is it for the treble bleed mod? I seem to remember having to get 2 .001 caps and wiring them in parallel for mine, could have been a different value though...

          you guessed it

that's exactly what i ended up doing, just wiring them together in series. seems to have gotten the job done, the treble's still there until the volume pot gets the point where there's not even enough signal left to be usable.
