  • pre amp tube help

    Ok, I need some new 12AX7's...they need to kind if fat sounding to tame a somewhat bright amp, not to high gain but not weak either...any ideas?
    If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!

    I heard JJ tubes are pretty good for fat sounds.

      Yup. JJ 12ax7's are what I use. I use them for that specific purpose.

        jj's and EH are both pretty warm, EH are pretty high gain, but they're my favorite out of those 2
