The funny thing about the Blackbacks in that Johan vid is you can hear the earlier Bon Scott AC/DC tone right there. Dirty Deeds

I’m a little surprised you don’t have them in your main cabinet tbh.

They are 30 watts each. I don't want to push them with a 100-watt head and blow them. I am looking into lower wattage heads right now.

16 Ohm Greenbacks for their all around balanced EQ with a hint of glassiness and gritty character.

Mesa-voiced 8 Ohm Vintage 30's for their familiarity and ease of recording.

The midrange spike that many seem to hate, but which I find cuts through a mix very well. They also seem to have a fairly tight low end. They're rated at 70 watts and you can find them cheap because of the hate.

What's up with the Jensen reissue speakers that they use in Fender amps? They're fairly cheap.

Jensens and the reissues have harsh almost ice-picky highs. If you can manage and tame them they sound fantastic. However, it is a challenge to get a great tone out of them. If you do they are heavenly.

Would a larger cabinet help that?

I think that breaking them in would help more.

M favorite speaker is the Splawn Small Block.
It’s a 55w Greenback clone. Made by Eminence exclusively for Scott.
These speakers fly under the radar for so many people.

I would be just fine with Celestion G12T-75s

                                Or V30s

                                Or K100s

THey all sound perfect for what I do.
