Come to think of it, when they first came out w/ the Ironheart's (10-15yrs ago?) I was really gassing for one..cuz of the price & how wicked they looke

But when I went down to the store that had them and tried the demo amp ( it was a 60W head)...it sounded like arse.....thin/anemic/trebly & lacking gain/any kind of balls. It was enough to keep me away from them for more than a decade...until I noticed that they actually sounded nothing like I remembered in just about all of the YT video's. So back to the store I went. Plugged in to a 120W head and man...i was glorious! I got a new boxed piece delivered to my home two days later...The rest is history

With hindsight I'm pretty damned sure something was badly wrong w/the first 60W head I tried years ago (bad tube, speaker cable, blown tranny or something else). I seriously would have your's looked at if I were you. These are as gainy as anything out there (Mesa's, Peavey's, Engl's etc)..with super-saturated lightning-fluid lead tones..

Make no mistake ..this is a sick high gain amp...as gainy as anything out there.

But you seem to be describing JCM 800 levels of gain

      Something has to be wrong...

I try and play as many of my guitars speedily (but also melodically) w/e possible through new amps for the sake of education

Sometimes folk mistake ^^ that for 'self indulgence' on my part or a desire to inflate my post count (eh, why?) ...but of course they're wrong about that (cuz of neonatal injury) and I always try not to hold that against them

This one's the same thing with the EQ tweaked a bit, nudged the bass up slightly and pushed the mids up from around 4 to 8. Also engaged the onboard boost (@ about 4) and dialed the treble & gain back slightly for a smoother fatter tone. Onboard reverb was at 1 (should have nudged it a bit higher up maybe) Dynamics down to 2 from about 7 before.

I just tried recording w/ the 'USB out' into my comp/Reaper. The stuff was recorded and sounded great (using the onboard IR) but I could'nt hear what i was playing.

I guess I'll have to mess around with the routing settings in Reaper/watch a tutorial on YT or something (or, as a last resort ..read the manual ) to set up some kind of monitoring that will work...

(Soon to be inserted into a bunch of strictly educational video's that will soon be coming up in this thread to make them more educational/beautiful)

And a return to breathy, touchy-feely, gropey romantic Jazz..

                  I know I said I was bored w/ it but I lied

I actually very much want to stay in touch w/ my sensitive side...so here goes

(Threw in some wrong notes/tapping/shred etc. to liven it up a bit.)

Slight EQ adjustment on the amp, pushed up the treble a bit cut some bass...added a hair more reverb..

Not to digress, but I last explored my romantic side back in 2002...(but it was with porn-grind not jazz..)

This one's extra educational ( 'cuz 30 frets!)

Tapping especially gets pretty tricky higher up on the neck ...but I managed w/o a ton of bum notes

This amp is on my radar for many years, simply because I'm a bedroom player and my Rocktron Voodu Valve (paired with a Peavey Classic 60/60 tube power amp) is difficult to dial (bunch of menus and only 3 knobs).

Is it good for a low gain also?
Is it good also for JCM800 level of gain?
