I finally got my Earcandy Buzzbomb 2x12 cabinet yesterday. I ordered it in black tolex with a Trans Blue front, and it looks unbelievable. The freaky thing is that this cab DOES stand up to any 4x12 I've heard like they claim. I've had a few 2x12s and didn't like them. They sounded too thin with no bottom. On this cabinet, the bottom is nice and clear and full, not muddy or "farty". I put in a V30 and G12H30 in parallel for an 8 ohm load.
I had the V30 in the Valvetronix but I took it out and put it in the Buzzbomb, putting the original neo-dog back in the Valvetronix. The neo-dog by itself sounds thin and bright but together with the Buzzbomb the sound is so full and rounded it's crazy! If I had it to do again I'd buy the Valvetronix head like stratdeluxer97 has. This amp needs a cabinet to really open up. A few patches sounded like they were just overloading the combo with bottom end, but with this cabinet those same patches sound so metal and powerful it's sick!
I also put my Crate Blue Voodoo and Univox U1246B amp through this cabinet and they both sounded different and better than they do throught the Crate 4x12, which also has the V30/G12H30 mix, only in an X pattern. The Crate was kicked up a few notches as far as quality in the sound and the Univox got into early 70s Marshall territory. No joke. I guess this amp really craved the 2X12 to push the speakers into that sweet overdrive like a plexi or metal face instead of falling short driving four.
Anyway, the Vox and Buzzbomb combo are a match made in heaven as far as my ears are concerned. Sounds like the buzzbomb and any amp are a good match, LOL.
Thank you to the forum brothers who told me about this cabinet last October when I was considering a 2X12.
