Hey guys im back again with my broken marshall. I have a tsl 100 head and i called because it had a bad hum and the guy at marshall said it's most likely the preamp tubes and he sent me new ones. now the tsl 100 has 4 12ax7 preamp tubes. The guy sent me 4 Sovtek EL84's. When i put the EL84's in, no sound came out at all and the tubes didn't even get hot, but when i put the old 12ax7's back in, the amp was working fine again, still humming bad obviously, but the 12ax7's were obviously doing something. So did the guy at marshall send me the wrong tubes? thanks in advance for the input guys.

Re: i think they sent me the wrong tubes
If it helps, the EL84's are worth more than the 12AX7's.
Just trying to be positive.Jackson, Ibanez & Ovation Guitars
Laney, Marshall & Peavey Amplification
((tube max dissipation wattage / amp plate voltage) x % of max dissipation wattage) x 1000 = bias current in mA
