  • 6021 tubes as preamp tubes

After seeing the new Twin Tube Classic pedal, I started looking into the 6021 tubes. I read that 6021 tubes are basicly super-heavy-duty 12AX7s. Are they usable in a tube amp's preamp without modification? And if so, how would they sound compared to 12AX7s?

6021's are not plug in replacements for 12AX7's...the bottles are miuch smaller and the pins actually solder into place...there isn't a tube socket sp to speak.
