Cabinet Advice please

As you may have seen, I've got my GT6 running into a peavey tube power amp into a Bag End 1x12. I am looking for a second cab and had been planning on getting a 2x12. If I get a 1x12, I could probably get a better cabinet, so my question is, will a 2x12 sound that much better, or if I get a nice 1x12 (Earcandy Sovereign, etc - see krankguitarist's thread) will that put a big enough sound?
