  • JUDAS PRIEST - Rising in the East

I am watching this concert on VH1 Classic

THAT IS SOME SERIOUS MARSHALL TONE!!!

Is KK still using the JMP1?

Whatever their rigs - that is some serious saturation and modern tone with that age old cranked amp sound and midrange.

I love the way they sound with the EMG's, esp on the Hamers!

Oh, and Mr. Halford can belt like a mother!

Priest rocks hard. They even made the acoustic version of Diamonds and Rust heavy.

Both KK and Glenn have been using the Rocktron Pirahna preamp for a long time. Here's a recent article on Glenn's setup: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/print...ticle&id=27378

I own a Pirahna myself and I've been extremely happy with it.

Thanks for the article on Glenn Tipton.

I saw that live video, too. Very good.

If you get a chance get a DVD copy of Judas Priest Live Vengence '82. Very cool. KK plays a strat with single coils. Interesting to see and a great show. I got for $9.72 at Walmart.

Yeah I saw that too. They even headbanged a couple times. Although I wouldnt have recommended that to old guys like them. But I saw an article in Guitar Pro or something and he had a pretty big rack with rocktrons and stuff. I dont really remember and I cant find the mag otherwise I could scan it to my computer and post it for ya. Sorry.
