  • Seymour Duncan Pup Booster

I was thinking of one for the express purpose of lowering resonant frequencies with my Strats and Teles to be more HB-like

    What do you think?

Does it add too much noise?

Would I be better just getting the DG20 setup from EMG?

Duncan's PU booster does fatten up single coils but not in a humbucking way. sounds fat but retains the single coil definition, more importantly, the twang stays.

The Duncan pickup booster adds very little noise...it is a unit that adds gain so there will be some noise added but I happen to like mine very much. FWIW, IMO the DG EMG set is just not very good...I tried a set out when I did my noseless strat pickup shootout last year and to be honest of all the noisless singles I tried I thought that the DG EMG set was the worst out of them all...
