How can you tell if one speaker will be louder than another (assuming they are connected to the same amplifier).....its it just purely based on its wattage?

ALso i have a question about speaker size....

Say if i have an 8ohm, 50 watt, 10 inch speaker, and an 8 ohm, 50 watt, 12 inch speaker. Assuming similar construction, will one speaker be noticeably louder than the other?

    Thanks, marty

    Re: Speaker efficiency

Sorta...effeciency ratings are kinda off too. Some are at 1w @ one meter, others are at 2.83v (so it depends on resistance).

Assuming two speakers are 8ohm and same maker/make then the 12" will put out more than a 10" because of more air being moved, but very slight.

go to the manufacturer's website & look at the SPL

wattage is in no way tied to SPL

30 watt g12h30's are tons louder than 75 watt g12t75's
