I went and played this amp a coule of times, the first time I wasn't all that impressed but I only had a limited amount of time to fiddle with the knobs, the 2nd time I was able to spend about an hour with the amp and dialed in some really great tones. I'm not used to a master volume amp so I had to find those sweet spot settings for my playing which I didn't do the first time - for an EL34 driven amp the clean channel (2) dials up some very nice blackface style cleans and can pull off some nice bluesy breakup with the volume up (at levels I'll never get to use it playing live but it's cool to know it's there - this amp is loud). Channel 1 has plenty of gain on tap for rock and is very similar in sound to a JCM800, which I really dig. Tons of bottom end but nothing flabby, so much so I've dialed the bass down to 3 or 4 on each channel. Overall, I think I'll keep it, paid $650 and it's worth the money.
