I have a question about splitting the signal.

Ok, I just got the boss loop station and it works great. Only thing is I can hardly cut through if i try to solo over the loop (which is what Im using it for).
I was thinking since I am getting a new amp I could split my signal from the end of my effcts into 2 amps. But when it is split my old amp will play the loop and I can solo over it on the new amp. Can I do this (it works in theory, right?)

Someone mentioned to me that if I split the signal the resistance will double because its split. Is this or something around this true? Help me out! Thanks!
