  • Bass amp advice

Hey guys, I need a bass amp.

Looking to spend around $500. I'll need an amp loud enough to play with a full band.

I literally know nothing about bass amps.

I would love an amp that can handle a tube screamer or boost, and a fuzz.

    Thanks guys

If it's a little over $500 bring it up anyways!

If you are looking for a combo amp I recomend a Carvin BR515. It is 500 Watts, has a 9 band graphic as well as a 2 band parametric EQ so you can really zero in on your tone. You can hook up a tube screamer or fuzz between your bass and amp or run it in the effects loop of the amp though I always put distortion in front of the amp.
For guitars: '62 Fender Jazzmaster, '72 Gibson The Paul, '82 Dean V, '83 Dean ML.

For bass: '84 B.C. Rich Bich with Kahler bass trem, Ibanez GSR200, Ibanez EX, '87 Schecter/Warmoth frankenbass, '99 Homemade bass

I'd be all over Craigslist. I was visiting down in your neck of the woods a few months ago and picked up a Hartke LH1000 and a 4.5XL in near mint condition off of Craigslist for $250 in Vallejo.

I'd have gladly paid you the $250 for that rig as opposed to some other random dude. <evil grin>
