Re: By the way, have you met Ms. Jackson?
Ms Jackson, I am for real.... (or however that song goes..) Another new woman in your life ACE?? Congrats! You are on a roll... I almost bought one of those when I was looking for a bass. I ended up getting an old Japanese Charvel model 2b instead.Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

How TF do I know - I'm a guitar player!

Re: By the way, have you met Ms. Jackson?
Jolly, as I said above, I was looking at these basses too, but without the ability to get hands on one before buying, and the fact that Jackson guitar necks are a small bit wider than I like and was worried the bass may be too, I went with a used Charvel model series and its killer..Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Re: By the way, have you met Ms. Jackson?
I picked up the Ellefson Rust In Peace import 5-string a couple of years ago, and it's a nice bass. Compared to my 1990 Jackson Concert V Pro bass, I'd say the necks are similarly profiled, and the string spacing on the Ellefson is very narrow. The knobs are a bit scrunched together, though. Easy to fat-knuckle the neighboring knob unintentionally, like a crowded elevator.
I'd imagine the 4-string model is equally comfy as the Model 2B, since that's pretty much what they took the current designs from.Originally posted by Brown NoteI'm soooooo jealous about the WR-1. It's the perfect guitar; fantastic to play, balances well even when seated and *great* reach for the upper frets. The sound is bright tight and very articulate. In summary it could only be more awesome if it had b00bs and was on fire!

I will add that the older "looks like a turnip" Jackson C5 bass with Duncan Designed passive bars is a very nice and easy-to-play 5-string, and the pickups aren't too shabby. Better than the stock Jacksons in my Concert V and the EMG HZs in the Ellefson.Originally posted by Brown NoteI'm soooooo jealous about the WR-1.
