  • Genz-Benz/Genzler amplification

So around 2006 I lived in the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area of NW Florida. I remember going into a local music shop one day (don't remember the season--the weather is pretty much the same year round there) and finding only a worker (owner?) and who I presume was a Genz-Benz sales rep pushing hard to get stuff stocked there.

I think they were either not yet open or had just closed. I went in to peruse stuff real quick and then left.

I seem to remember them being a small but boutique brand who were in the mix with others popular in the market at the time like SWR and Trace Elliott. Pretty sure Ed Friedland (The Bass Whisperer of YouTube fame) used Genz-Benz stuff in his demos. Not sure why considering he always adjusted stuff on his basses and not the numerous EQ options on the amp--leaving them flat. Just a bass player thing I guess.

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them.
