What kind of guitar is this?

I know it's a Gretsch that Billy got from Bo Diddley, but is this a custom guitar? Gretsch makes a Bo Diddley signature, but it's completely rectangular, not shaped like the guitar in the pic. Did Gretsch ever sell these to the public, or does Billy have the only one? Anyone happen to know? Thanks.

that guitar was made for Bo Diddley by Gretsch awhile back, and in an article in GuitarOne July 2003 Billy Gibbons says it was a gift from Diddley.

um...it's a 53 if I remember right. It was a design that diddly came up with, but couldnt make on his own, and gretch was the only one willing to help him. It's pictured on several album covers (Bo Diddly is a Gunfighter, Bo Diddly is a Lover)
