  • Will removing paint hurt the sound of guitar?

Anyone ever removed paint from a set neck or neck thru guitar? If so, does it hurt anything? This guitar is all mahogany and it's black now, and I've thought about removing the paint and then sending it off to have it repainted or partially repainted by that dude that does all the custom work for ESP, Jackson, etc.. Can't think of his name, but he gives ya a break if you already have the paint removed..

    Thanks

I remove paint from all my guitars, especially off the back of the neck. I'm not sure if it changes the sound in a bad way, but I like the sound of the guitar without alot of finish on it. It sounds more open and airy.
