I have a basic idea about which woods complement which tones, but what about exotic woods? And which woods should one stay away from because of muddy qualities. What's your favorite wood?

one thing to consider with some exotic woods is that they are endangered. also look into recycled woods (like old heaboards and mantles) as well as non-traditional tone woods.Administrator of the SDUGF -

well, it's a very general question, but you might start on Warmoth's site - they have descriptions for the woods they use"music heals"
