  • Tone woods/exotic woods

I have a basic idea about which woods complement which tones, but what about exotic woods? And which woods should one stay away from because of muddy qualities. What's your favorite wood?

one thing to consider with some exotic woods is that they are endangered. also look into recycled woods (like old heaboards and mantles) as well as non-traditional tone woods.

well, it's a very general question, but you might start on Warmoth's site - they have descriptions for the woods they use

Taylor and Santa Cruz sites also list the different tone woods that they use (more for acoustic) but it will give you a general understanding of tonewoods.
