  • tremelo pedal....

hey, im interested in purchasing a tremelo pedal. basically the sound i want from it is pure rockabilly, like a gatton type vibe. rockabilly. like "fire" (the robert gordon version), that type sound. bypass would be nice, but it wont be in the chain a lot so thats not the main issue.

    any help would be nice.

money isnt a tremendous issue, but the cheaper the better as long as it sounds good!

    thanks.

The Keeley-modded Boss TR-2 is excellent.

The Fulltone Supa-Trem. Sounds amazing (better than the Voodoo Lab when I A/B'd them), has true bypass, an LED that flashes the tempo, plus a footswitch that lets you half or double the speed of the effect.

Never tried the Keeley modded TR-2 Tremolo, but the stock TR-2 is damn near perfect as is, for any tremolo type ...

A tremolo, as in a Floyd Rose, alters pitch. A tremolo, as in the pedals or built into the amp, alters volume.

Actually, a Floyd Rose, Bigsby, Strat whammy bar or any similar device (or your fretting hand fingers) produces what is correctly called vibrato. Vibrato is change in pitch, tremolo is change in volume. These two terms arm mistakenly interchanged all the time, even in guitar magazines (I've seen published tablature with references to "Trem. bar").
