  • what happened to the Ibanez USA Custom axes?

    (check out this also:

    http://www.tonyhernando.com/main_news.htm)

yesterday my guitar teacher showed me a pair of his studio/gig guitars, and one of them was that RG USA CUSTOM (the fourth one, kinda flamed maple red finish) with that free tension neck system...is like heaven to touch...feels so amazing, and sounds awesome too (btw it comes with paf pros)...

and he told me that this guitar series ended on the late 90s... and that ibanez have his "belle epoque" on that 80-90s, and the guitars that they make now (except the prestige series, and the customs) are much lower quality than those...

why did they stop that series? what do you think guys?

(btw now i´m going to find one of them on ebay or something instead of buying one rg prestige 2000€ axe)

my guess is probably that they werent making as much profit off them as they wanted. making lower quality guitars yields higher profits. after all they are a business not just a guitar maker...
