When I ordered the parts for my new Gordon Smith (being built) I had the initial idea of using a Hipshot Hardtail.
It is string through

When I went to order it though, they were out of stock, and I couldn't find another site stocking them, so I instead ordered a Schaller non trem roller bridge... the reason to this was it has a screw on the side of the bridge, which once you've set your intonation etc locks it, so the entire thing resonates as one, the theory being increased sustain.
This isn't string through.
Schaller Bridge
John (Smith) doesn't need the bridge just yet but I'd rather sort this now than mess him around.
My options are : keep the Schaller.
or
Buy the Hipshot, and sell the Schaller/trade it for something in the trading room.
Anyone with any experience with either please chime in.
