I went into the store oneday and tried one of those martin guitars, and Me and my frend were blown away by the response and the tone you get from those accoustics, its huge and the bass response was out of this world. Definetly my favourite accoustic yet. I wish they did plug in ones of the same model.

once i picked this guitar up, i could say i could not agree with you more. it is truely amazing and like no other guitar i have ever played. it blew away all the new taylors and other martins in the Indianapolis guitar center.

Since i am finally home i will be emailing martin to find out everything i can just so i know it.

although I've had 2 Ds for years, I've always felt the small bodied Martins were just amazing
if they can take medium strings, the projection is something else

If you really want to make your Martin blow away every other guitar you've ever had, install a Bridge Doctor!

After putting a Bridge Doctor in my Epiphone birdseye maple cut-away, I've been sold on this little miracle created by a guy named Don in New Mexico...when I bought my DM12 I put one in it after playing it for a week and the note clarity and resonance it added made the DM12 sound better than ANY 12 string I've ever heard in person.

BTW, I chose the DM12 over ALL the Taylors, Guilds and other misc. 12 strings I tried in 7 guitar stores!

              Martin ROCKS!!!

This guitar looks like either a model 36 or a 38. The photo only shows the body. I could be wrong, but I think thats what it is. Very nice guitar good Luck!!! Oh and I agree with GJ. Martins are the best mass produced guitars out there. LOL

                  Re: my new martin guitar

I just re-read that post I made here, and thought "dang, I sound too snobbish."
However, last night, I got together with 2 guys who live near me to do an acoustic jam. One has a seriously mojoed old 71 D-28, I have a 2001 D-28, and my other friend has a Martin grand concert. All three of us have had a garden variety of good acoustics like Seagull's, Taylors, Guild's, etc. Not one of us would part with the Martins and go back. I do love Taylors, too, though. I miss my old 410. That was a really nice sounding Taylor. The 810's and 814's are my favorite Taylors. Once you go rosewood, you never go back.

pretty cool they could tell me all about it with the serial number, and curly you were right. it is an 00016 model. thanks for all the help guys. this thing sounds great and it is very loud with medium gauge strings on it, especially for the size of it.

GJ, i wouldn't trade mine for even another martin

                        cool

the 16 series has neat cosmetics, especially for the price range ... I love the abalone rosette, and I'm sure the 45 style back stripe is nice ... nice appointments without getting carried away

tonewise, the scalloped bracing is great

I'd guess that this guitar will record very well
