Need help choosing a color scheme for my Strat

So to go along with upgrading all of the electronics on my strat, I decided to get a new pickguard (I hate having the volume right near the bridge pup, I always end up hitting it accidentally). My dillemma is what color to choose. The body is black and the neck/fretboard are both maple. Chrome hardware. I'm caught between two options - black 'guard with white pup covers, knobs, and switches, or red tortiseshell 'guard with black pup covers, knobs, and switches.

What would you choose?

if its a black strat then im not a fan of black guards. therefore i chose red tortoise

a tortoiseshell pickguard is big enough and different enough of a colour to create interesting contrast. All black with a lil white here and there wouldn't look as good IMO

I guess you're not a fan of Gilmour's black strat then?

I'd get a black pickguard with a white ply with chrome single coil covers and chrome knobs. I know allparts.com has Strat control knobs that are chrome. It would be an awesome look IMO.

Hot dang, that sounds awesome! Only thing is I'm getting an Everything Axe set, and the holes for the chrome single coil covers wouldn't work with those pups, right?

Do you know some way to fabricate chrome covers for a JB Jr, a Duckbucker, and a Lil' 59? I'd love to do that.

Tortoise shell looks good only on white, cream or natural color Strats IMO. I'd go with black and some white.
