  • Are my speakers gone?? Recone, or replace??

I have a feeling the speakers in my bassman are going. The amp doesn't seem to be able to handle the bass at higher volumes. What would be the most telltale signs of speakers wearing out??

The speakers in there right now are the original jensen C12-NA's, which i am not going to get rid of, but if the speakers are a problem, would you recomend reconing them, or just putting them away somewhere, and buying new replacement speakers?? If so, which speakers??

I don't know if they're on their way out or not, but I play my 71 Bassman Export through a Vintage 30 and a EV 12L in a sealed Marshall 2x12 cab and the bass is very tight. The cleans are very good and sparkly too. The only downside is that the EV is VERY heavy. Very, very heavy.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
