it has takin me a while to gel with the Larger headstocks... but now i love them.... that new Fender American Special model that has a neck on it like the HWY1's is quite nice with the Candy Red finnish! and i love the fact they are Large Headstocks and 22 fret necks

Red looks pretty sweet with CBS headstock and rosewood board, dark blue is pretty good too.

Natural ash like Jolly has posted. Or cream, vintage tint... all off-white to yellowish colors with a white pickguard.

Vintage Cream or Burst (2TSB or 3TSB doesn't matter to me) are by far my favorites with a rosewood board...

Though I own a candy apple red Tele, I have to say it's been done to death. With a roswood board I would say Dakota Red, thus:



I've seen this guitar described in several places on the web (erroneously, I believe) as Fiesta Red but I'm pretty sure that darker red is Dakota. (I really ought to fix the entry on Wikipedia, but I don't care that much.)

Either that, or Sherwood Green. Those are my favorite Strat colors. Yes, I realize neither is an authentic CBS-era color, but I likes what I likes.

I think the Fiest red is a bit more orange than the Dakota IIRC.
