Yup, sorry, B, I might have misread your previous post then. You could also do it with a SPDT center-off switch. They are a little more difficult to find, though not impossible.

That free-way switch is pretty big... sure it fits in the switch rout of a LP?

That's what I had in mind, but you absolutely are right. Buying them "regular" on/off DPDT mini toggle switches is very easy. I even might have some in my drawer.
