hopefully im not the only one asking "...james tyler?"

*edit- after some research, ive discovered who he is: the man behind the world's most hideous headstock and logo design.

If they're in the same price range as a typical Tyler, count me out.

        Steven Tyler? Tyler Perry?

Seriously, Line6 just need to drop the idea and sell the guts as a kit and let someone else build the guitars to put them in. Crap, let everyone else build a Variax-enabled model and be done with it. I'd love a Jackson Variax.

You can get a warmoth variax which is pretty sweet in my opinion.

Have they figured out how to track palm muting yet? Loved the idea of the Variax, but it didn't do metal.

No thanks, I'd rather have one of these if I'm going to have a passive guitar/Variax.

I don't think the Variax system had the Metalheads in mind when designed... just saying!

Nope, all electric guitar models were based on vintage instruments. I did really like mine when I owned it. I have thought a time or two about getting a 700 model. They are very nice guitars in their own right. The build, fit, & finish of the 700's is on par with PRS, EBMM, and others. The downside to the whole Variax concept is that the models, while sounding good and believable, have a sort of "plasticness" about them.

It looks like a healthy portion of the design was ripped off from the Aria 714
