        Come on man...

Gibson shipped just over 1700 Les Pauls in 58, 59 and 60 combined!

There is no way there were that many 52 GT's...
        Here: http://home.provide.net/~cfh/shippin4.html.

How accurate it is, I can't say, though it seems to agree with your statement of some 1700 58-60 bursts shipped. Whatever the case, it seems logical in view of the fact that the GT was the only LP made by Gibson over 1952-53. In later years, Customs, Specials/TVs, and Juniors were introduced, so Gibson 'calibrated' their production numbers more.

Also, by the late 50s, LP Standards/Customs were losing ground because they were more expensive than a Fender and the latter ruled the roost in music, hence decreased annual production. Juniors on the other hand were cheap and regarded as 'student' guitars, and probably less $$ than a Fender, so they would've sold reasonably well.

...Between the fakes, and the scams on the intermet, it has become almost impossible
for us to run across really smoking finds. which are financially in our favor...in the old days you could lose a couple hundred dollars if you were wrong.... now it is thousands......do your homework or bring an expert before dropping large chunks of cash..

Anyone who only gives you an email and will refuse to give you a phone number is a SCAMMER!

Anyone who pretends they are out of the country and will ship you the item if you send them the money is a SCAMMER!

I usually block my number and call people if I am not for sure, but in this case i wouldn't even call...

I refuse to give a phone number unless the person wants to commit to a time to come see or purchase my item. I don't want random Craigslist whackos phoning me.

dude, the biggest "red flag" was that there wasn't a response email attached, but rather a "response button" that was probably bugged.
