  • My Customised Strat (Pic Story)

    Here is the story;

    I wanted to have strat but couldnt afford it. So i got an used SX Strat copy with moded neck pick up. It was fine for its low price but i wanted more and got the more

    First i disassambled it fully. I saw the neck pick up connectred like this;

    I couldnt believe there wasnt any solder. And it was not the fender pick up i was told. Im really not sure what the pick up is, by the way

    Part 2; Still Continues

    Anyway, guitar was like this;

    And i made up my mind. The body was not too bad to modify. Moreover it is me who would do all the stuff no i didnt need to pay for it.

    I really dont like the way that SX does on their guitars and calls vintage yellow vibe. So i got it, frets and inlays off;

    I changed the neck profile also. Now it has "V" type. Moreover i finished the back side of the neck with satin nitrocellulose and the fretboard with polyester for its streght.

    I dont like the frets on it and get new Dunlop 6105s on it. Inlays were stnadart balck dots and i got new red vibe to them

    Electronics were terrible;

    So i put new alpha and CTS pots, new 5 way switch, caps (soon will be orange drops), Fender and S.Duncan SSL1 pick ups with new wirings and shieldings.

    I like the appearance of pearloid pickguards and changed it, too.

    New graphtech nut has been installed.

    Neck pocket was the worst;

    So i had to give an hand on it to make it properly.

    And finally i reached the guitar you see. Whats your thoughts?

    PS:Future modifications are;
    1)add an toggle SW to wire the middle and neck/bridge pickups in series
    2)add an toggle SW to use neck and bridge or/and all 3 pickups together
    3)Orange Drop Caps
    4)New saddles and sustain block

                wow man, that's awesome that you went so far as to refret the thing! personally i'm not into pearloid white on black, but it's a definite improvement over what it was. and those red inlays are killer

                    The replacement pickup looks like a Fender Highway 1 pickup.

                          You should take that neck and have this done to it...

                          LED inlays. Totally unecessary... but so friggen cool. Haha!
