  • Flat Wound Strings sound "Flat"

i just put some d'addario flatwound strings on my hollowbody. i love how they feel, and i like how they sound (very woody), but the Low E string and A string sound flat even though my korg electronic tuner says they are in tune and intonated. i tried lowering the pickups to reduce magnetic pull, but it didn't make a difference.

is this just how flat wounds sound, or is there some thing wrong with my guitar?

you do have to change the intonation when going from rounds to flats...

according to my tuner, it is intonated. i am thinking that its just the difference in the way flatwounds sound vs. roundwounds. no?
