  • pickups mounted directly to the body.

i have only had one guitar where the pickups were body mounted and i never messed with them. the body i got for my project is set up for them. but i have no clue if i need to make sure the pickups have short legs? or what screws to mount them with? i think the screws that come with duncans would be too long.
the pickup cavity's are flat and do not have any spots routed out for the legs on the base of the pickups.
any info i can get will help out a lot.

If you're using humbuckers, be sure that the screws are thinner diameter than normal
in order to pass straight through the height adjustment hole on the legs.
Long legged humbuckers may not fit if there is no recess countersunk.
Just try and do a dry fit with the pickups and see how high they sit
    laying in the cavity.
