    The Guitar Center in Concord, CA has a genuine '68 for just under a grand. AFAIK, it's all original.

      Nice looking guitar. Is it just the way those photos are or do those things have really thin bodies?
      I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.

        I think it's the binding that makes the body look so thin . . .

        It's not a bad looking guitar. I didn't realize that they came in sunburst colours.

          That price is mind-bogglingly ridiculous. If it was as bad as he said, he should have just kept it for parts or gutted it and sold the neck. As-is, it should be sold as a custom build with a melody maker neck.

            Pretty cool..... I remeber as a kid one of if not the first Melody Maker I ever saw. It had a giant real pot leaf (approx 8-10 diameter)it was huge, on the back on the guitar that was varnished or clear coated on some how not sure. It was at a local Guitar shop in Tampa on Nebraska and 131st Ave........ahhh those were the days! lol

              Expensive IMO. Binding on the neck and headstock would have made it look awesome though.

                  my shop has an all-original 77 and an all-original 62 with hardshell cases for $1199. This guy is asking way too much.
