    Since I don't use the trem on my Strat, I put a piece of foam cut about 1" wide from a pickup jewel case under the springs. Problem solved for me.

      Yep, a strip of foam (from pickup packaging, for instance) under the springs works just fine for me.

        get a beer belly .... play guitar with trem cavity cover off.......rest it on belly so belly touches springs and stops ringing.

        thats what i do

        caution dive bombs may pinch belly so lean forward when you do them
