Is the Cyber pedal worth the $250? What options does it give?

I've used a Digitech Control 8 with my Cyber Twin since the CT came out..
The foot controller allows you to control effects parameters within your CT and allows you to select presets on the fly via your foot...You also need the foot tweadles if you want to use the built in wah or if you were to use the treadle as a master volume also..You pretty much need the FC if you want to get the most out of your Cyber amp.....I bought the Control 8 only because the Fender FC wasn't available until months later..I just got used to the C8 and stayed with it...
    Amps: 66 Fender BF Pro Reverb Combo,1973 50 Watt Marshall Head,Marshall 4x12 A/V Cab,Vox ToneLab LE,Vox VTH Valvetronix 120 Head,Vox AD 2x12 Cab,Roland Cube 20X

Guitars: Several Stratocasters,2 Fender Telecasters,Gibson SG Standard,Tokai Love Rock Les Paul,Dean Acoustic.

    Pickups: SD SSL2,SSL5,Twangbanger,Antiquity Surfers,59N,Seth Lover N/B,Dimarzio Fred,Dimarzio VPAF N,Fender Fat 50s,Fralin SP43 Bridge,Brobucker,Antiquity Texas Hot.

I've had my CT for about 3 years now (maybe more) and I just have the 4 control footswitch that it comes with. I have a Bassman sound for most of my work, another with some chorus, one with a bit more gain and distortion and one with a tremolo. Basically, that covers all my bases.

SUre there are more settings you can have, but I'll spin the dials when I'm at home, but when I'm playing out with friends, all I need are the 4 settings. I don't see the need for too much more.

I do run a Crybaby through it for some fun, but the only thing I've ever thought about adding is a switchable overdrive pedal and a volume pedal.

All told, I'd be out about 250 bucks for the other pedals-n-such, vs. spending that much for the foot controller. But you get to pick some of the effects, and if you ever dump the amp, you can still use the effects. The foot controller is not universal.

Contrary to what many say about this amp, it can give me most anything I need. Sure-it's no Badcat or Shiva, but it does sound pretty nice for about a grand.

        Hello Dave....Great post buddy..
I've been gigging with my CT for 3 years now, plus I use it every week when we practice and I agree with you...It consistently gets great tone and is versatile and has alot to offer...Is it an old vintage tube Marshall or Fender amp? Nope, but it sure has it's own great tone and it gets the job done for me and my band...

Regarding the FC...I use an EB Mono volume pedal strickly for master volume control of my CT all night...The built in expression pedal on my C8,controls 1 effect parameter for each preset I use...I then just select from 2 banks of presets, but I pretty much stick with about a total of 6 presets overall...I was very instrumental on the Fender Discussion Forums when I was one of the first to really get a handle on the workings of this amp...I used to send presets to the guys on that forum and I still love my CT today,as much or more than I did when I bought it...Mine has NOS RCA Black Plate 12AX7s in it...It made the tone fuller and made the whole amp sound better..

Check out some presets under "Stratdeluxer"....Notice the dates on the presets...
