  • Gibson reissuing the Nighthawk?

Check it out. Not a horrible price too, although I have no idea what the originals cost, so it could be blown way out of proportion. They look nice for the price though

EDIT: Let's all try not to degrade this into a Gibson-bashing thread. We have a few different ones every week.

Still limited edition. People are going to whine about the chambered poplar body and maple neck though; seems to suggest more of a Fendery vibe. Gib could go somewhere with a smaller LP style guitar that's not a back breaker. I imagine there's a lot of people out there who like LPs but never go with them because of the weight.

The 2009 version looked ok too, with the bridge hb and neck P90.

I love that blue one. I wish I could find a Les Paul that looked like that.

I kinda dug the slanty pup in the original.

You know what would have made them BAD@$$? A P-rails in the neck!

I also feel the price is a touch steep... but overall I agree: Good job Gibson.

A bit pricier but also a bit more upscale than the originals.

Cool guitars I really like the original with the soapbar and the backloaded pickup plus the variatone. A buddy of mine has one he got recently for maybe $500, I can't put the damn thing down once I get my hands on it. It sounds completely righteous.

Double amen!!! love that color! Plus, I always kinda liked the nighthawks. But an LP would be supreme!
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

I dig it a lot. Don't expect it to give you that strait up LP or SG vibe, it's a beast of it's own (from the old ones I've played), but a really cool guitar none the less.

With a tag of 2300$ on there, you'll probably see them hit the store at around 1500-1600$ (considering the Traditional LP is priced at 3.5k on their site).

Not a bad guitar, for a pretty cool price.

                    I approve.

                      I'm getting a brown one...

I'm gonna put two creme P-Rails, wire it up to be
Bridge HB - bridge rail and middle - middle - neck rail and middle - neck HB

Then if you pull the tone pot, the bridge and neck positions become P90s

                      yup...I'm psyched

Replacing the center pickup might prove difficult.

if you're digging that, look for a mkIII LP studio lite.

Still a stupid looking guitar. IMO

I actually liked the originals, but I'm not a fan of these new ones... they're too tacky.

                              This is an original:
