  • Switching 3-way-selector for a blend pot

Im thinking in changeing the typical 3 way switch for a blend pot on my HH config. So in the end it would be 1 Vol, 2 Tone, 1 Blend...
Having that in mind (all those sweet different tones i can get)
Are there any cons or any Pros??
    Thanks ^^

Pros - broader variety of settings between the three standards.

Cons - broader variety of settings between the three standards.

If you feel there are tones you really need, can't get by without, and can only get with a 80/20 split where a 50/50 won't do, then this could be a good thing. If you want to keep controls simple leave the subtleties to your fingers, then it would just add unwanted complexity and inconvenience.

Also, the blend pot, (which is essentially two pots), and your volume control will all be wired in parallel. If you can find both in 500k, the pickups will effectively "see" a 167k load. Make sure thats what you want.

Temporarily wire a 250k resistor across the outer two terminals of your volume pot to see if this is acceptable. (Assuming the present pot is 500k.)
