How would Caparisons compare to, say, Jacksons? Never researched much on them.

they look cool and I hear they are great, but they are expensive.
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

They blow Jacksons out of the water... Basically.

But there is a price to pay for that kind of quality.

Didn't yet, I wish I could right now though.

Wow, I didn't expect them to be that good. I like the Dellingers and especially that white Chris Ammot one. The only drawback (for me, for others wouldn't be I guess) is that they're bolt-ons. I'd prefer a neck-through one.

But even they're bolt-ons I like the heel cut. Maybe weaker but more comfortable.

They also use Schaller Floyds - Schaller S-FRT II.

This guitar is the opposite of what I'd normally go (black guitar - black hardware). It's white with chrome hardware but it looks cool!

          But check this out:
The cheapest price for a Jackson SL1 in Europe is 2200 euros. This particular Chris Ammot Dellinger is about $2900 -> 2200 euros! Direct rival!

Which one would you choose? It's neck-through vs bolt-on and alder vs mahogany.

            Re: Very recent GAS

If I understand my guitar history right, some ex-Jackson luthier(s) went on to build the Ibanez custom shop RGs and then moved on to this?

Anyway, played a couple, that's the idea I got. Extremely high-end (wait 'till you hear prices) Jackson Dinky-meets-Ibanez RG.

            Great guitars, for a price...

Their TAT models are like Jackson SL1s from hell. If only they were flat tops like the Dellingers...I wouldn't even think about it.

i prefer neck thru's as well, but i'd happily make an exception for the CA.

I also noticed this mysterious line at the end of their page:

                  "Pro. Finish
This is Caparisonユs original finish which helps make our distinctive and renowned mid-low range tonal characteristics possible."
