I really enjoy the fact that you build these with vintage and oem parts as much as you can help it. I do the same thing, even on projects that arent necessarily vintage per say, but its just a weird obsession of mine and Im glad that its not just me. Lol

Really alot of that older stuff cant really be beat, so there is that, but to touch base on a point I made in another thread, is the fact that the thrill of the hunt and the enjoyment you get from refurbishing and breathing new life into something just adds that much more to the already good feeling you get from doing the work yourself.
Plus Id rather hunt for stuff and rebuild it as opposed to sitting on my butt and ordering new parts online. No fun in that at all.


You have some nice stuff there DeWayne! Didnt know you had that Tele... never had one myself, but I always liked them, especially with a Floyd. Id prob do a reverse headstock when I ever get around to doing one.

Thanks for the kind words. I do tend to think that the older/original/vintage is better quality and specs as well as the fact that I like a little "worn patina/relic look" versus "shiny and new". Add to that finding cheaper prices on the older stuff in most cases as well. I always try to "build on a budget" when I've got a project going but sometimes it requires the "right" piece and that justifies spending a bit more.

Ha! Well; if I had retained them all for sure. This is more of a running historical thread for me. I have a self imposed limit of 7 electrics maximum. When a new one comes in, generally, a less loved one goes out.
