  • NGD Cheap Strat Body Bombs Away!

    Picked this up for 85 bucks. Reason being I have a Strat Maple neck with tuners laying around I paid 100 bucks for that I have no use for, but couldn't begin to get back the money I paid for it, and I laso have plenty of loose pickups lying about..so I saw this here plywood Strat body with a cool Custom paint job. Hope to have no more than around 250.00 into it when done.
    Fighter/bomber motif thats supposed to be an historically correct paint job on an actual old Fighter. I'd maybe like to add a USAF/Army Air Core decal or some bombs decals..wish it had that, that would be a lot better.
    I'll be putting a clear H-s -s pickguard on it to kind of show off the paint job and lend a Glass cockpit aura to it.

    looks great
    the clear guard sounds cool

    I would suggest "frosting" the back of the guard towards the bottom
    hides wiring and again would look more authentic

      Thanks.Frost it with gray spray paint?
      Theres a guy selling real sheet metal pickguards at a reasonable price that look very authentic, but I'm afriad it would make the paint job seem less genuine ??.;

      EDIT- I catually think it might work. I bought the sheetmetal pickguard. 24.00 bucks total .. not too bad.

        I have seen a "bomber" motif Ibanez pickguard from this guy on ebay. You might be able to get them to cut you a custom guard. http://cgi.ebay.com/SKULLY-PICKGUARD...item1c1995c271

          well I was just thinkin
          over the control area - just swirl over the back side of the clear pickguard
          lightly with some fine sandpaper wrapped round your finger

          making it slightly translucent

          if its made of plastic

          some ammonia will "cloud" it up
