  • Eminence Private Jack and Governor Questions...

Does anyone have any experience with these two speakers and can compare them to Celestions (i.e. which one they are similar too)? I've heard the Governor is similar to the V30, but smoother with slightly less upper mid. I haven't heard anything on the Private jack, but it looks like an intersting speaker.

I'm soon to buy an Avatar cab for my Rectoverb, and was interested in these two speakers.

Anyway... any yays and nays or experienced impressions welcomed, please.

    Thanks,
    Nathan

call Dave at Avatar and ask him what he thinks. I hear excellent things about the Tonker going well is Marshalls.

There's a HUGE thread on the Gear Page about all the new Eminence Speakers. You might want to check it out, but it's pages long.

I've got excellent experience with Texas Heats, Red Fangs and Copperheads. But our of all of them, I'd say the Texas Heats would be the best with a Recto. But, it's more of a traditional Jensen C12 type speaker. The Red Fangs are like the Alnico Blue Celestions if that helps you at all.

Hard to go wrong with any of them.
