          B2D... how do you like those pickups? I'm not sure if I dig the gold-covered pickup look or not. I was thinking about maybe some gold-plated open-coil DiMarzios though. I wish I could find Duncans like this (as I've never cared for DiMarzio pickups).

            The law states that if your guitar's low E is tuned to C#, you are required to play the main riff of Into the Void at least once a day. If you don't already know it...LEARN IT!

              What is the control layout on those LTDs?

              I remember playing a guitar like that, a 3 knob Les Paul style, and I remember being tortally corn-fused about which knob did what.

                EC1000s are great guitars, a lil light in weight for EMG IMO tho. Def swap out the 60(N) for and 85(N) you'll thank me later. Great axe tho. Real comfortable and rock solid build.

                        Yup. I've owned two EC-1000s, four EC-400/401s, and my current Eclipse -- all have had the 2 volume, 1 tone layout. I did rewire the 1000s to be 1 volume, 2 tones when I had them. But turns-out I prefer being able to mix the pickups into the overall tone. Favorite is full bridge, and partial neck (to fatten the thin bridge tone up a hair).

                              Very Cool! Congrats!! Ive Been wanting one of the Purple ones since they came out, but cant justify it...
                              Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

                                I've nothing against EMGs on the whole... initially I got turned off by them because the 81 is arguablt their most popular one and I don't like that pickup at all. That being said, I've been pleased by every other pickup they've got. The Gilmour sets for the Strat are amazing.

                                I have always wanted a nice LP style guitar, but nothing the Gibson made has ever suited me very well. The EC1000 just... works.

                                As others have said, 2-vol, 1-tone. I can do the kill-switch thing without bothering with a second tone knob.

                                I've tried the 85 in the neck... too loud and too middy for me. The 60 isn't bad but I like the 60A that I'm using better, a little more musical and not too skinny sounding.

                                This particular EC1000 is a little heavier than most of the ones I've played. It does sound a little ballsier as a result. I'm happy!
