  • Intonation of a Strat with floating trem?

Should you always make sure the other strings are in tune at all times when you're adjusting the intonation, or should you just be concentrating on one string at a time?

I don't retune the whole thing between adjustments, just between intonating each string, and it seems to come out just fine.

Personally, I'd screw down the springs until it's flat (assuming you're not intonating a Floyd) against the body, intonate, then re-adjust your spring tension for the float.

        Eh???
Just tune it up until it is in tune.....
New strings, action must be set before intonating!
When that is done, no big deal in adjusting the rest!

Thanks guys. I was just concerned that once all strings are correct in tune, they would get off tune by the adjustments I make for each strings, and that this in turn can make the string I'm adjusting a little off too, seeing as the tremolo moves freely..

I always did the intonation last for some reason.
