So I got this bad chika in last week, but I waited until I got her all modded up before posting. It's Fender Blacktop Telecaster in candy apple red with a rosewood fretboard. Here's what she looked like when I got her...

Great guitar for the money. Plays just as good my American Fenders and the build quality looks to be pretty damn good. Did I mention that this guitar is $449 new?
The neck is not like the MIM Standards, but more like the high end MIM Fenders, like on the Classic Player models. The only thing I don't like about it is the stock pickups. While they sound pretty decent to my ears (better than most Epi pickups I've heard), they are microphonic as hell. Plus, they are a bit too high gain and the neck pickup is too smooth for my tastes. So I let the modding commence!

I replaced the pickups with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates bridge humbucker and a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro neck humbucker. I also took of the ugly 70's Tele knobs and replaced them with traditional knurled chrome dome knobs. I also replaced the 3 way with a MIA Fender 3-way switch and the pots for 500K CTS pots. I plan on flipping the control plate back to the tradtional way, but I need to route out a little bit of wood in the control cavity (it was routed for the flipped position) to get it to fit. Sounds awesome. It has a bit of a Les Paul vibe with a hint of Tele twang.
Here's one more pick... my three Teles:love: Guess the kitteh's name...![](https://forum.seymourduncan.com/core/images/smilies/lol.gif)
