i compound radius my fret tops when i do fret dresses these days... it always helps get lower action for sure... i don't go too drastic either... if it was 12 at the nut i'd go 14 in the middle of the neck and a 16 for the end of the board... sometimes i just go down one flatter 12 near nut and end with a 14 block
