How would this sound?

Tele bridge pickup/Strat middle/Strat neck + Telecaster bridge + 5 way switch

It's something I'd really like to do... a Tele or Strat body, but with Tele/Strat hybrid electronics (and my usual Strat wiring: volume bridge/volume mid + neck/Master Tone). However I'm wondering whether the Tele bridge pickup may be too bright compared to the Strat pickups, perhaps... maybe... or not.

Or alternatively, something like a Little '59 Tele with auto-split for added versatility.

You shouldn't have any problems with it depending on which pickups you choose. Brent Mason uses a SD Stacked Tele bridge, SD Hotrails in the middle, and a Mini Bucker in the neck of his Valley Arts Tele. Fender had a tele out with a strat middle pickup. This is all well charted territory so everything should work together pretty well.
