Did you notice a big difference with the brass block (been meaning to get that one done myself)?
On EMG pickups the 18V mod is supposed to give you more headroom, open up the sound more (I heard you can get those same qualities by using the Blackouts on the usual 9V), however I haven't ever tried it myself.

The Brass Big Block on the other hand I have it in both my Floyd guitar and OH YEAH it makes a difference!!!

Thanks Bro! Correct on both! With the 18v mod, I get a better clean cuz it doesnt break up so early and the overall tone is alil richer and thicker. The 85 in the neck is alil warmer and the 81 in the bridge is not as thin.

The big block helps with sustain and gives you a beefier tone. I didnt notice as much of a benefit on this guitar as I did when I put one on my Charvel Pro mod. This guitar was already very solid and beefy sounding. There is enough of a benefit that I will do the mod on all my floyd axes that I end up keeping.

Esp since I found a guy that does em cheaper than Floyd upgrades.. Edit: Ayrton pointed me to Keith Hartley. See the linky in Ayrtons post below. Keith is great to deal with

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

I'll have to see. They're pricy though. Do you know if there's any particular brass mixture (seeing as how it's an alloy) being used? Otherwise, it might just be cheaper to go to the closest metal shop and have them build me one.

there is a thought..depends on the shop, but some will fabricate. Heck, have em make you 20 or and sell em on your side of the pond to other players that cant get them.. Just remember where you got the idea if it gets lucrative. I think its just bell brass. They offer titanium too, but....

I live in Greece and yeah, Adam from Floyd Upgrades shipped to me no prob.

Another option is like you said.

Coma, what size do you need?

I have no problem sending one across the pond.

No stamping on it, but I measured the height to 42 mm. The pocket does seem a bit tight, however. How thick is the block?

^^ should there be true interest in EU-made brass blocks, now would prpobably be a good time to note that I work at a machining plant that can fabricate just about anything from metal and offers reasonable discounts for employee work. For example, I´ve had aluminum parts of my own design stamped and anodized for use on remote controlled vehicles, so I´m thinking that sourcing a bit of bell brass and running it through the CNC shouldn´t be an unsurmountable issue. It would however probably be exhorbitantly expensive for single blocks, I´m thinking that maybe batches of 5-10 could be halfway cost effective
